A couple words about my new book, "A House in Disarray", a police drama/detective story set in Manhattan with no science fiction.
Unlike my earlier "Demonic Issues" stories (currently posting), the Smashwords version of the book does not have the previous issues with the graphic images not printing. In other words, without the awkward double negative, the book looks terrific. I continue having lesser problems with smashwords, notibly each page contains an extra blank page and the graphics are all shoved to the left, rather than centered as the story formatting dictates. (I fixed the latter by making the graphics span the width of most devices (other than PCs). The former used to post an extra two pages, so it's a little better, but hardly perfect.
I'm currently investigating posting via Draft2Digital, and so far, they seem to be much better at handling formatting. They also have a handy feature where they'll notify you whenever a new book appears (if you sign up for it, that is).
Also, like most of my books, I've got a book giveaway on Goodreads for it. This time, I'm giving away eight copies and is open to anyone in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Australia. The assumption is that, if you win, you get the free book in exchange for writing a review, either on Goodreads or elsewhere, but that's a beautiful $9.99 book for free. The contest can be found at: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/show/267975 (you have to copy & paste the address into your browser, or visit the goodreads giveaway page and search for "Crumbly Writer".
Note: Since they have no preorder option, the D2D version of my book won't be available until it's official launch date of Dec. 16th.
