I've got the bones of an idea for a story, but there's no meat on the bones. So I'm turning to the wildest idea factory I know.
The story is, a lawman from 1850 gets sucked up in a tornado, in the Oklahoma panhandle. He gets deposited in 2020 and picked up by the District Attorney and a Cherokee woman. Who are a lesbian couple. Aside of gawking at the WalMart, what does he do for a living? I want to stay away from the obvious: he could be a 2020 sherrif or a P.I. or be a cowboy. So.... that's your challenge. Find him some way to make a living, and something that'll be a good story.
