Chapter 1: Arrival

The moment the earth exploded, the fear of death finally turned into physical suffering, and the burning pain was imprinted in the deepest part of Hamilton’s memory.

  ”The universe is the abyss.”

Hamilton murmured quietly in the starlight.

  The earth exploded.

Hamilton clearly remembers that just about half an hour ago, the earth exploded.

The sky was filled with raging clouds of fire. I sat in the living room of my hometown and hugged my parents and sister tightly. Together they faced a fire spewing from the cracks in the earth. In the pain of the flames, I fell into the dark abyss of consciousness.

  ”Is this death now?”

  Hamilton felt calmer.

Three days ago, television, the Internet, and text messages on mobile phones began to announce that Earth’s civilization was about to collapse. Human civilization had entered a countdown. High-energy rays that suddenly appeared in the outer solar system struck Earth without hindrance. However, the technology on earth was powerless, and the order of civilization was extremely rapid. Collapse. (This source is not a direct probe.)

Human civilization was gone before it had time to leave the earth.

Before the Earth exploded, there was a relatively absurd argument circulating on the Internet—the Earth was attacked by rays because of a virtual perception space navigation holographic online game called “The Abyss.”

”The Abyss,” which Hamilton has been obsessed with since college, progressed to the plot of “The Abyss Comes” three months ago. The climax of the plot is to use the home star base as a bet, calling on players around the world to unite and fight against the “Ninth”. The threat of the legions of plague.

How can players from all over the world come together?

After all, the main plot isn’t that big of a deal.

In the past three months, various fleets have still been attacking each other. Everyone has already acquiesced to the fact that when the countdown to the expansion pack ends, there will be an official “invisible soldier passing” to overthrow the powerful NPC fleet.

Exactly three days ago, the main fleet of the Ninth Plague Legion broke through the outer protective line, arrived near the origin of human beings on Earth, and launched a star destroyer bomb against the origin of human beings on Earth in the game world.

Players all over the world were kicked out of the game at the same time.

Within half a day, the high-energy rays were detected by real-life extraterrestrial satellites, and human civilization on Earth entered a three-day countdown.

Is this really just a coincidence?

Isn’t that too much of a coincidence?

In those three days, Hamilton saw a lot of conspiracy theories and analysis posts, saying that humans are a universal species in the universe, that the Abyss game is a civilization test given by advanced human civilization, and that humans on earth have failed and been destroyed.

But Hamilton really couldn’t accept the fallacy that ‘I blew up the earth by playing games’.

  However, all this has passed.

Although Hamilton cannot open his eyes at this moment, he can still recall, think, and feel the presence of his body.

  It’s probably now...

Have you come to heaven? Or fell into hell?

Had the previous burn not been too painful, Hamilton would have been willing to think it was a dream.

  ”professor.”

Suddenly, there was the sound of footsteps and a conversation between a man and a woman.

Men are called professors and have deep, powerful voices.

The woman must also be middle-aged, and her voice is very sweet.

”Doctor Lina, how is our third officer doing now?” the man asked.

”Hanton is no longer in any serious condition, and his body indexes have returned to normal. He has just suffered a severe concussion to the head and may have some sequelae later on.”

”This poor guy deserves a lot of credit for ignoring the research ship. Don’t skimp on medical resources.”

”Don’t worry, Professor, I will definitely take good care of Hanton.”

  Hanton?

A research vessel that humans understand?

  It’s all a mess.

  Hamilton tried to think, and a series of memory fragments appeared in his mind;

These mottled and illogical pictures suddenly hit his brain, and the severe pain made Hamilton twitch all over.

  Hamilton reacted immediately.

If he can’t stand the impact of these memory fragments, he could become a fool and most likely lose his Hamilton personality!

He endured severe pain in his forehead and tried to distract himself, repeatedly recalling his short half-life as Hamilton.

Finally, the pain began to subside, and the memory images from the body became vague and tame.

  He won.

Hamilton exhaled in his heart. Before he could review the extra memories, he heard the messy footsteps again.

  ”what happened to him?”

The professor asked in a deep voice.

”It may be a lesion in the central nervous system ... the problem is worse than we thought. I need to re-examine him.”
