Chapter 5: Rampage

Hamilton pondered how to refuse the reward.

Several light red lasers flashed across the projection screen, and bloody holes as thick as thumbs appeared on the Valkyrie’s hands and feet lying on the ground.

There were two more shoulder injuries than Hamilton suggested.

The captain in the fire control cabin below asked over the radio, “Do you need to do more damage, Professor?”

”That’s enough,” said Kilgrove at once, “that’s enough, don’t hurt her anymore. Let the assault team go up and put all the modified bodies into deep sleep. They are all our precious achievements.”

”Okay professor,” the captain’s voice sounded a little unfinished.

On the projection screen, two rows of imperial soldiers armed with laser guns and wearing protective clothing rushed into the bottom cabin and quickly pressed their knees on the necks of the cybernetics.

The Valkyrie suddenly opened her eyes, and red ripples bloomed again.

But a light blue protective film appeared on the helmets of those soldiers, protecting their fragile brains and sensitive brain waves.

As Hamilton previously stated, Valkyrie loses her mobility when she suffers multiple penetrating wounds to her body.

Several injections attempted to penetrate Valkyrie’s fair and smooth skin. Her hands and feet kept shaking, but she could not move.

The commando’s chaotic voice came from the built-in speaker of the main console:

”Oh my God! Captain, look, Valkyrie’s wounds are healing, and the burn marks are gone.”

”Infinite cell proliferation? Did she incorporate bugs’ genes?”

”What a monster she is, even though she is beautiful! Shit, bring the thickest needle over here, my needle can’t go in!”

”Inject the dormant injection into her wound. Her skin is extremely tough. It’s a monster.”

Kilgrove said coldly, “Captain, tell all your people to shut up!”

  ”Good professor.”

The captain cut off the voice synchronization of the action team, and the main console became silent again, except for the rapid and rough sound of Kilgrove.

Hamilton, standing behind, hesitated to speak.

Kilgrove’s breathing gradually calmed down, and he slowly turned around, his mechanical eye shining with dark red spots.

”Come on, Hanton,” Kilgrove cheered up, “I will personally help you perform the reconstructive surgery.”

Hamilton immediately said: “Professor, I think ... at this moment, I need to maintain the equipment of the spacecraft. After all, there is such a big commotion.”

”Isn’t this what you have always wanted?”

Kilgrove stared at Hamilton: “Why can’t you see a little happiness on your face, Hamilton?”

”Professor,” Hamilton gave an ugly smile, “I just hurt my head, and I still feel dizzy. Iam concerned that this will affect the success rate of the transformation.”

”””It won’t make any difference,”” Kilgrove seemed to be looking for something in Hamilton’s face.”

I’m going to reveal my secret.

Hamilton was shocked by Kilgrove’s insight and thought quickly about the current situation in his heart.

  Despite the fact that Kilgrove seems to have a pleasant appearance now, this guy is a perverted murderer at heart, and regards life as even more despicable than a piece of shit;

If Kilgrove becomes suspicious of him, his situation will be very dangerous.

  But that 35% mortality rate...

”Professor, why don’t you wait until this is over? I still have a lot of work to do.”

”I don’t make promises lightly, Captain Henton, and when I make a promise, I don’t change my mind.”

  ”But Professor!”

Hamilton took half a step forward, and suddenly there was the sound of frustrated footsteps. Four garrison soldiers appeared on the left and right, and the red dot of the laser gun fell on Hamilton’s forehead.

”Don’t be nervous, Hanton, I understand you.”

Kilgrove walked towards the stairs on crutches, no longer looking at Hamilton, but turned around and said:

”Captain, you personally send Third Officer Hanton to the backup laboratory to encourage this young man and let my assistants make some preparations for him, if they can still move.”

The captain, who had just left the console, looked at Hamilton with complicated eyes and made a gesture of invitation to Hamilton.

  ”Thank you, Professor.”

Hamilton smiled and walked towards the captain without looking back.

On the projection screen, the Valkyrie was carried to the experimental table by the soldiers, quickly tied into a rice dumpling, and more dormancy reagents began to be injected.

  ...

The captain is a thoughtful soldier, completely loyal to the Empire and Professor Kilgrove.

On the way to being “escorted” to the back-up lab, Hamilton was always looking for a breakthrough. The moment he left the bridge, the moment he entered the elevator, the moment the elevator switched to a microgravity environment...

All possible opportunities for resistance were blocked by the experienced captain.

From Hanton’s memory, we can know that when this happens - the soldiers on the ship turn on the safety of the laser gun and aim at the head of the experimental material, it means that they may shoot at any time.

There have been accidents before where experimental materials were shot directly through the brain.

The current situation is that there is still a chance of survival after being transformed, but the chance of survival if you directly conflict with them is slim, and there is still some buffer space in the matter of transformation.

”After all, the chance of survival is still 85 percent.”

  Hamilton thought happily.

The backup laboratory was on the upper floor of the bottom cabin, and the elevator that resumed operation took them directly to the entrance of the laboratory.

The silver-gray alloy doors opened to the left and right, and several experimenters who had received orders in advance were nervously staring at the door with fear on their faces.

”Hanton,” the captain patted Hamilton on the shoulder, “Thank you, you may have just avoided a disaster for us.”

  Hamilton clenched his fist slightly.

If the real Hanton got such an opportunity, he would naturally be ecstatic; his current worries and resistance have aroused Kilgrove’s suspicion.

Even Hamilton was vaguely aware that Kilgrove was watching him now.

The soldiers stood aside holding laser guns, with their fingers near the trigger, and the biological safety of the guns was turned on.

In other words, the soldiers have been ordered to kill Hanton at any time, and the person who issued this order will only be Kilgrove.

  ”captain.”

Hamilton whispered, “If possible, please advise the professor to use some more mature techniques for me. Only by living can I serve the Empire.”

Before the captain could speak, the usually inconspicuous third officer in front of him walked into the cabin with his head lowered and calmly laid down on the experimental table. He put his hands and feet where they should be without the soldiers’ help. Tightly bound by chains that spring from below.

”The professor may have made an unwise decision. ‘

The captain had such an idea inexplicably.

Instructing the soldiers to stay in the laboratory, the captain turned and hurried towards the bottom cabin, thinking of words to plead for Third Officer Hanton without angering Professor Kilgrove.

  ...

The wait on the experimental bench seemed particularly long.

Hamilton’s mood gradually changed from angry and irritable to calm and restrained.

This life was originally saved, now I just need to find a way to survive.
