Chapter 14

He could swear that Hajib was foaming at the mouth. He then turned toward the undead leader. “I need all of your dead to search through time and find this woman. Return her to me, she is somehow important to the male master.”

“We will do all we can. Though they will need you to bring her here, they cannot transport the living,” the leader said.

That is of no consequence she, I feel, is the key to defeating this pesky male. Find her as fast as you can. I feel that he is not hunting for us yet,” Hajib said.

The leader nodded, almost afraid if he spoke Hajib would act crazy again.

In the modern world, Tawney and Catherine were reaching back, year after year. They were back almost ten years. They were when Catherine watched a battle that was taking place. Her mouth dropped open as her master was near the center of it.

Catherine called Tawey as the both looked on in shock. There was some serious power that was being directed Catherine’s master.

No matter how hard they looked, they could not see who was attacking him. Neither could either enter the year that it was happening.

They were almost smacked back away from the year. Even as mad as Catherine was getting upping her power, she was still denied entry to that year. That’s when she felt that it might be the council.

This worried her as she hadn’t the power to go against them. With a sigh, she and Tawney continued back further.

Almost as she thought they really saw anything that would clear up this whole mess. This, of course, had both Jinns scratching their heads.

Catherine couldn’t believe that there was nothing to help as the went back twenty years. They appeared back in Victoria’s home shaking their heads.

“Master, Mistress, it is strange that we found nothing but master in somewhat of a war. It appears to be a very powerful magical war,” Catherine said.

“A magical war?” Victoria said. “That sounds vaguely familiar, you say it was about ten years ago?”

For a moment they thought that Victoria might know something. A few minutes later she shook her head.

They all sighed as they all tried to think of more things they could do.

“For the moment I can’t think of a damn thing,” I said.

“We could feel her, but she was obviously further back than we thought. We only stopped as I wanted to alert my master of what I had found,” Catherine said.

I nodded as I tried not to be depressed as I felt, it was all my fault that she had been taken.

Somewhere in the past, Catherine was tumbling badly. She was doing her best not to scream. Who was that terrible male that had demanded she come with him, then tried to leave with her?

She closed her eyes as she felt a tingling deep within. She grabbed it as she tried to calm herself, then wished she’d stop and be nowhere that horrible male.

As if something had heard her, she slowed, then stopped reversing the direction she had been going. She traveled a few moments, then it felt as if she was spat out.

Shit, she thought as she was heading toward hard ground at accelerated speed. “NO!” she screamed, then stopped floating a few feet above the ground.

She then sighed as she floated to the ground softly. A few moments later a horse-drawn wagon came around the corner. Her eyes were large as she stared at it.

The older man in the seat stopped beside her. “Are you OK?” he asked.

“I’m not sure where am I?” Catherine asked.

“Ya is in the great state of Arkansas,” the older man said.

“OK,” Catherine said. “What day is it? I seem to have lost track of the date.”

“Ya poor thing,” the older man said. “It’s Tuesday, the year of our lord eighteen hundred and fifty.”

Catherine’s eyes got large as she stared at the older man. “Did you say eighteen fifty?”

“Aye, that I did, young lady,” the older man said. “Me and my wife have a place oer’ the hill, she might be able to help you. Perhaps get you proper clothes, them ya have, seem hot for here.”

Catherine was still shaking her head as the older man got down to help her up.

Catherine thanked him as she tried to climb up, then suddenly felt light-headed. “I’m not feeling all that well,” she told the man as the light-headed started to pass.

“I got some water here,” he said as he reached under the seat for a dipper wrapped in cloth. He then went to the back with her and lifted the top off a wooden barrel. “Here ya be.”

Catherine took a sip of the barely warm water, shocked that it tasted as clean as it was.

She sat at the back of the wagon as her queasiness came back. Then the world started to turn clockwise. She then threw-up and promptly passed out.

The older man shook his head as he put her the rest of the way in the back of the wagon. He shook his head as he climbed back in the seat and headed toward his place.

“So neither of you could feel her even back ten years,” I asked. I was starting to get more worried the longer it took.

“No master,” Catherine said as she lowered her head. “We thought that this was important, that’s why we came back.”

Catherine was about to vanish when I grabbed her arm. “Catherine, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to take it out on you. I feel that all of this is my fault, I ... I hope you can forgive me.”

For a few moments, Catherine’s mouth hung open as she stared at him. “You are my master, you do not owe me an apology. I am only,” she started.

“You are a person with feelings. I hurt those feelings, so I do owe you an apology,” I told her.

Catherine still had her head bowed shock on her face. “Master, I am just a t,” Catherine started when I stopped her.

“I told you before that you are more than that. I love you and I do not see you that way,” I said as I was taken off my feet.

Catherine was kissing me all over my face. “Oh master, I love you too,” I held her away from me a bit as two low gongs sounded.

Tawney and my Aunt both had tears in their eyes. That’s when I noticed that both Catherine’s hands were glowing.

I looked at them, then her, “What has happened?” I asked.

Catherine took a deep breath, feeling within, “Master? My power has grown far stronger, I’m not understanding.”

A flash nearby showed that the council was there. “You are as you would have been had Hajib not interfered. You were destined to become a very powerful Jinn. He wanted your power and life, now it is beyond him,” the leader said.

“It’s beyond him, what do you mean?” I asked.

“Of all the parts of the curse, this was the most significant. Before he could just take your power and life, now he can not. Both have been linked to your master. To do that now would almost render him human,” Catherine’s father said.

“Oh, so he could kill me and still get her,” I said.

“Only physically with not really much strength,” her father said.

Catherine’s face dropped,”he could still have magical assistance. As he proved when, he obtained the dark pendant and the dark sword,” a worried Catherine said.

Catherine’s father was quiet for a moment, then nodded his head. “It would seem that Hajib was indeed trying to circumvent all that was in place. At present, you have extremely great protection, though you need far better.”

“Father, I thought I had acquired the best,” Catherine said.

“What you have is by far the best for a normal Jinn. Hajib has been boosted beyond them, true they will work, but you need more,” her father said.

“More?” she said, unsure of what he meant.

“There are certain, uh huh, artifacts out there that are far more powerful. Though I am afraid that you will have to prove and earn them,” her father said.

“Earn them? Haven’t I proved enough?” I said.

“For what you have now, though, what you really need will test your devotion and love. Actually, it will test the both of you,” her father said. “I am sorry, but it will be of your minds and not your physical selfs. If this love and devotion is true, then nothing will be able to defeat you.”

“So, you’re saying that we could die if we aren’t true enough to each other?” I said, then got pissed. “I would rather die than allow him to even be able to touch her or my sister. I think that this is the biggest bull shit I have heard in a very long time!”

Again, I didn’t notice the huge gong that sounded as I kept going. Neither did I notice that her father was smiling hugely.

What I did notice was another scream a distance away that grew closer by the moment. When Hajib appeared, he had a maleficent dark aura around him, he started to swing at me, then stopped.

A moment later he started to scream even more, “What trickery is this?” Hajib screamed even more as he again tried to swing at me.

“All your curses and evil intentions have been cleared from this realm. You no longer hold sway over us and the others here,” the leader said.

Hajib backed off as he started to laugh maniacally, “Perhaps you, but not,” At that moment, a plain male appeared.

“It is all over for you in this realm now, you have included me!” Seven Jinns appeared, each with a look of pure rage on their faces.

Each pointed at Hajib a beam shooting out from them. Hajib started to laugh ‘til all seven, then the two princes also appeared.

They, along with the rest of the Jinns, made archaic symbols in the air before them. As the princes and princess started to chant, Hajib started to struggle.

He then turned toward me, “This is not over! I can not get you here, but your sister is still there. When I find her, I will use her more than this bitch would have experienced. Know that you will fail and the both of them will be mine. Too bad you’ll be dead mor,” then Hajib started to scream the loudest as he started to vanish, and then he was banned from the magic realm.

“We thank you for your role in getting him banned from the magical realm,” the council said.
