Chapter 16

Walking out of the cave, Hajib’s skin glowed with a black aura. His ally also noted that Hajib’s eyes had gone almost completely black.

“Ah! That feels so much better though, the spirits were far too easy here. On to the next, the more, the better. Then when I meet her master, I will crush him like the insect that he is,” Hajib said as he laughed a truly evil laugh.

All that were there flashed out with a strike of black lighting. The laugh of Elvantor Hajib laughed as he thought of how easy the human would be to defeat.

The great Jinn felt this across space and time. He would have to move up a few of the tests. The dark Jinn was gaining power too quickly.

The Great Jinn set about accelerating his plans. He just hoped that the master and his were ready this early.

He needed to implement the plan that the council had discussed with him. His hands glowed as he lifted the item, now it would be up to the master.

I was pacing as the worry about my sister was growing. We were in my old house that I had paid for.

I was in my old room as I was going through a few things and memories. I bumped a box under my bed, hearing an odd metallic sound.

I pulled out the box looking through it. My hand hit something metal, causing me to stop. What the hell? I thought I don’t remember putting this here.

I reached in, pulling out a lamp that looked fairly familiar. What I hadn’t planned on, was the fact that I had rubbed my hand against it, bringing it out.

Almost immediately, a light blue mist came out of the old lamp. I rolled my eyes because I knew that I had been set up. I stood there with my arms crossed as Catherine had her mouth open.

A moment later a blond female looked around, then espied me and Catherine. “Oh look, a damn human, even worse, a male. Figures I’d be saddled with a piece of shit like that.”

She smirked at me holding her lamp, then she swiped it from me, and it started to shake, then shattered. A large smirk and then a smile graced her face.

“Ah, that feels better what a damn stupid dickhead you are,” she said, not noticing two wrist bracers that appeared behind her. “Now, since I was obviously sent to serve you. Too bad sucker!” she said, as she turned and the bracers snapped closed around her wrists.

“What is this? Release me this instant,” she said, pointing at me. “Wait, you have no power, was it you?” she said, then pointing at Catherine.

Catherine shrugged, “It wasn’t me, no matter how strong I am. I cannot hold you or apply slave bands. That takes a power that is far beyond any Jinn.”

The other Jinn started to open her mouth when she was suddenly frozen in place. The same huge Jinn I had met personally appeared.

“So, Cythina, you have already forgotten the deal that we made so long ago,” The Great Jinn said, this causing Cythina to grimace. “I assume that you no longer wish to exist?”

Her mouth was suddenly unfrozen as she started to spit at the great Jinn. Then her eyes flew wide as she saw that the great Jinn’s hands were starting to glow red.

“WAIT!” Cythina yelled as the Great Jinn’s hands held where they were. “This is all I have to do is help him and her? Nothing,” she said, then stopped as the great Jinn shook his head no.

“You know that it is far more than just you helping him. Before you say more, let me advise you that she is the cursed Jinn of Legend.” This caused Cythina’s mouth to drop open.

“You are the one that broke the sacred vows you made to him? How in the seven pleasure palaces, are you still alive?” Cythina said, amazed.

“Before you continue, you should know that her groom broke the vows and a few other laws. He did this several times before he was caught by the council. She was well within her rights to have him forever imprisoned. We thought that was it, then we found that he cursed the council among a great many in the world. Many of those have been broken by this, what did you say about him? A damn human, even worse a male. That it figured you’d be saddled with a piece of shit like that? “Yet,” here the Great Jinn paused, “it is up to him if you live or are destroyed.”

Now Cythina had an extremely worried look on her face, then it cleared as she said, “Ha! All I have to do is give him a piece of ass, then he’ll do, what, why are you shaking your head he is a male.”

“This one is a soldier, you might find he is far harder to seduce than you think,” the Great Jinn said with a smile and a slight pass of his hand toward me.

“You think that I have no power over him? Watch and learn,” she said as she walked sexily toward me.

I just saw what appeared to be an older child trying to do ... something? I wasn’t sure.

I shook my head and put a handout to stop her, “not really interested, I don’t go with children,” as I turned and went to Catherine, putting my arms around her.

As you might have guessed, Cythina didn’t react too well as her hands started to glow. Then, she started to scream as she fell on the ground and started to writhe.

“So, I see that you have forgotten the penalty for trying to kill a master. Yes, he is her master, she is protected by the laws of magic, as you can be.” this last the great jinn whispered in her ear.

Still, she struggled more to break free to no avail. Finally, she passed out the pain to great for her.

“Great Jinn, I cannot abide being the source of her suffering,” I said. “Is there no way to release her from this?”

The great Jinn shook his head as he sadly replied, “I am afraid that this is a consequence of her own making. It is all on her to get herself out of this. Perhaps to grow also, as she wants everything to go only her way. A sad reality she needs to learn that does not exist.”

I looked at Cythina and shook my head. “What?! You think that I can actually teach her? Why do I think that you and the rest there have lost their freakin’ minds!”

The Great Jinn sighed, “I know that it seems impossible. I have seen that you, and only you, can break what is holding her to this vengeful state she is in.”

Again, I looked at the Jinn as if he’d lost his mind. Then I thought the same about myself as I thought that I could do it. I nearly slapped myself as these thoughts came to me.

“Alright, the first thing she is a Jinn, I cannot control her. Second, she can interpret what I say as she sees fit. She might not be able to kill me, but she can still make life as miserable as she can, to get me to release her,” I said, worried to the Great Jinn.

The Great Jinn nodded as he passed a hand over her. He then made a slight motion toward me as a lamp that was exactly like hers appeared in my hands.

“Is there anything else?” he asked.

I stood there shaking my head, what had he done? I felt no different and had a lamp that was a replica of hers.

“I want to be safe as well as Catherine. I don’t want a Jinn with me that is trying to try to kill both of us. I don’t really feel that as long as she is with me, nor do I think that she will listen,” I said as the Great Jinn thought a moment, then nodded, passing a hand over her, then me, he then passed one over Catherine.

This time I felt something weird inside. As I looked at him strangely. “Everything you wanted has been granted. It is the hope that you can help her, as I can feel that she will help you,” he said. “I hope to see you again as the victor.”

I nodded, then he vanished quickly. I just sighed as I waited for Cythina to wake up. I was already cringing as I could just imagine the tirade she’d have when she awoke.

I shook my head as I thought that the Great Jinn could have waited ‘til she was up. Then the moment I was dreading appeared.

I saw that she was looking around, then tested the fact that she had slave bracers on. After a few minutes of screaming, she glared at me as she opened her mouth to scream at me. Finding that she couldn’t speak.

She then closed her mouth, thinking about something again. “What exactly have you done to me?” she asked.

“I haven’t done a thing to you,” I said, then she cut me off.

“I know you have no power, what did he do to me?” she asked.

“I told him that you are a Jinn, I didn’t feel safe for me or Catherine. I don’t want you to make life miserable and force me to release you. Then again, I don’t think I can. I told him I can’t control you, nor do I think that you would listen. He passed a hand over you a few times, then left,” I told her.

She smirked then tried something, then was instantly drawn to my left arm. A different kind of bracelet appeared on my arm that her bracers were drawn to.

She suddenly shrieked as she said, “A master bracelet! How dare you, you piece of shit! I never accepted him as a master, nor will I ever.Take,” she started as she looked at me, then grabbed her throat.

I shook my head as I stared at her. Now I thought we’d see what was what. She tried to open her mouth to say something again, but only a squeak came out.

I nodded as I was beginning to get an idea of what he’d done.

In saw Cythina take a deep breath as she saw me nod. “So, you know what he did to me?”

“I believe that I do,” I said as she waited, though I thought about it a little more. She seemed to get more impatient as I tried to get all my thoughts together before I spoke.

“I believe that he has limited your speech to us as non-abusive,” this made her face scrunch up as I continued. “I know that you can’t kill me, though I believe he has helped, so you won’t distract us so were killed.”

“Distract you? It’s just the Jinn, Elvantor Hajib he’s not,” she started, then stopped as Victoria and Tawney appeared. “Who in the hell is this?” she nearly shouted.

“This is my aunt and her Jinn Tawney,” I said.

“Ah that weak little bitch,” Cythina said. She was then knocked back into the wall, a look of absolute surprise on her face. “When did you gain power?”

“When Master, John broke the curse on me and my mistress,” Tawney said.
