Chapter 21
I saw what appeared to be a swirling of colors from him as I reached into him as he sent another fireball. I actually saw where it came from: a depression that had tightly swirling colors coming from.
I covered a part of the depression I was seeing the swirling colors coming from. I felt rather than heard him scream as his fireball just stopped.
I smirked as I saw that the colors were now still. “What have you done to me? You horrid abomination. I will not rest ‘til you and all that are with you are dead! You will pay for what you have done!”
He then vanished as the castle started to shake. I got all four of us out of there. I felt around, though I did not feel the other mages.
I then felt forward in time surprised I could. We then vanished heading back to our time, unaware things weren’t quite right.
As we fell forward, I started to piece together what had happened. It had to be Hajib though, somehow I felt that the ex-Egyptian mage leader was involved.
I had seriously limited the ex-mage leader’s power. Hajib was another thing all together. I needed to settle this before things went any further.
As I expected, we were suddenly jerked to a stop, then dumped out of the time stream. Apparently, we were at the same time we had left before.
This time there were no huge number of people running our way in terror. This time there were only two mages headed our way. Though they were stronger than before, they were still no problem.
They both stopped with their mouths agape, “Dear god!” One screamed as they started to back-peddle. Then they stopped and started to fire at me and my girls.
I smirked as their power was indeed weak as I just brushed them aside with a flick of my wrist. They both screamed as they were flung back a great distance.
The one that had spoken first yelled at the other to get the leader. I managed to singe him as he vanished with an ear-piercing scream.
The other smirked as he said, “Now you’re in trouble.” He then started to fling nasty though weak spells at me
I made a punching motion towards him, snapping his head back, dropping him unconscious. I could only stare at him, then at my hand, I hadn’t even used that much power.
I was shaking my head staring at the prone man when there was a popping sound. Not far from the unconscious mage, two more males appeared.
One of them I recognized, then I realized I recognized the second also. “So, the abomination has reappeared. I have waited over two hundred years to gain my revenge on you,” the ex-mage leader sneered at me.
I laughed as I could feel that his power was no higher than it had been when we first met. He stared at me with a look of absolute anger.
“You should be afraid of my power! I have had centuries to grow it. I,” he was suddenly silent, as I had made a motion sealing his mouth shut.
“Yeah,” I said bored, “not really much at all.” This seemed to piss him off even more, with a yell, he started to sling a strong spell at us.
Again, I flung my hand towards him, knocking him and the other male off their feet. Outraged, the ex-leader jumped to his feet, amping up his power.
This time I could actually feel his hits, somewhat. I just smirked at him as he did his best or rather worse. This time I drew back my fist like I had the first man and laid him out.
I was moving to wrap him up to end this when another twenty mages appeared. I wrapped myself and the girls in a green shield and moved toward them
I had managed to defeat all of them as I turned toward the ex-leader. I groaned as I felt him time slip out, laughing at me as he did, luckily I singed him again.
That’s when I felt things started to go right. I quickly removed all the mage power from all the males as I had the leader.
Again, I felt even more in time start to go right. I was about to leave with my sister and Jinns when they started to awaken.
They all stared at me then raised their arms toward me. A moment later, they all stared at me with shock on their faces.
“What have you done to us!” One of them screamed at me. The rest could only stare at their hands.
“You’re now like all the victims that you terrified. As you told them, enjoy the gift,” I told them.
I then had all of us join hands as all four of us vanished amid yelling. I almost expected for us to be brought out as we exited the time stream again.
I felt around, we were apparently a good five hundred years further forward. I could also feel that there were far more mages than before.
“Master?” My Jinn Catherine asked. “We seem to be having to straighten things out with this mage and Hajib.”
I slowly nodded my head, though for the moment, we had twice as much against us. “We need to regroup about all this,” I told both my Jinns and my sister.
They all nodded their agreement as we took over a barn not far away. For the time being, we were safe, though how long remained to be seen?
In the Jinn realm, Catherine’s father and the leader of the council shook their heads. “As always never easy for them, is it?” the council leader said.
“I am glad that they have corrected as much as they have. Though I fear that with two enemies out there they are at a disadvantage. Is there no help that we can give them?” Catherine’s father asked.
The council leader thought for a few moments, then turned to the other male. “The help is there, it just has to catch up to them. Though I fear the temper of the ever last master when he does.”
“Yes, I agree, the last time he lost it, we nearly lost both realms. Let us hope that all his Jinns can keep him calm this time. They weren’t all there last time, they all are now,” the council leader said.
Catherine’s father nodded as he watched the council leader wave a hand over the detecting pool. “Ah,” he said. “It appears that he and his Jinns are at this moment searching back to find them.”
“I sincerely hope that he finds them as I can feel that bot5h evil leaders may join up again soon. I can also feel that it will take both of them to defeat the evil that is coming their way.”
“Well,” the council leader started. “A little help isn’t against the rules. “Though I am afraid that the ever last master will have to stay here to anchor time.”
“He won’t be able to travel back? Is he that powerful that he can reach them from where he is?” Catherine’s father asked.
“He has no less than seven Jinns, including Jinn princess Amira, protecting and aiding him. That and her brothers, the Jinn princes,” the council leader said.
They both turned to see that I had removed the power of over twenty mages, making them human. Then they watched as we came five hundred years further into the future.
“Ah,” the council leader said. “Things are feeling far more like they should.” He looked at Catherine’s father, who also seemed to relax.
Hajib had made it further back in the past after he’d left the Jinn palace. He was mumbling about how wasteful the Jinns were.
His undead friend let out a sigh, it appeared that Hajib was far happier than when he’d left. “I take it that things went far better than you thought.”
Hajib turned on his friend, an evil smile displayed on his face. “Yes, it appears that we have an ally that hates the bitch Jinn’s master, as much if not more than I. Ah, such hatred it was truly refreshing.”
His undead friend could see that seventy-five percent of his arm was regrown. His leg seemed even further, the toes still missing.
“It is good to see that you are almost whole again,” Hajib’s undead friend said.
Hajib blinked a moment as he looked at his arm and leg on the left side. A slow, even more evil smile crept onto his lips.
“Yes,” Hajib started. “I have an excellent idea, I am going to need far more power. Then, when next we meet, her master will defeat himself.”
A truly evil laugh rose from his lips and rolled across the swampland. His undead friend waited as he always did for an explanation.
When nothing more came, his undead friend still waited. “So, how many have you managed to extract?” Hajib said, drooling at the plan in his head.
“I have scoured across time gathering every dead, unsettled and angry body. At present, I have a paltry ten thousand, though I have another fifty thousand more coming,” Hajib’s undead friend said.
“Keep gathering, we will need as many as possible. He and his sister are abominations that need to be eradicated. I expect that afterwards, I will be heralded as a hero for destroying them,” Hajib sneered with glee.
His undead friend bowed as he left to start bringing as many dead as he could as fast as he could. Again he thought that his friend was starting to become a bit unhinged again.
An hour later, a huge group of sixty thousand dead stood ready for his command. He could already feel that they were going to be harder and harder to control. Their anger was almost swamping what little he had.
He really hoped that this plan worked, or the dead were going to eat Hajib alive quite literally. He felt as shock as he felt at least another thousand approaching where they were.
Another thing that was making him uneasy. It was the fact that he felt Jinn and mage power coming from both the siblings. One was bad enough, but two? If they had melded the two powers together, they’d be unstoppable.
The undead friend shuddered, things were starting to advance far faster than they should. He started to make preparations in case things went out of control.
His plans finally cemented, he started to arrange the next fifty thousand that appeared. A hundred and ten thousand, with another fifty approaching.
Far in the future, Catherine, Cythina and my sister were resting. I was going over all that I had at the moment.
I had 2 - Shield Crystals
The magic sword of Kilemon, Felensar
