The large Incubus’ face went red as he grew angrier. “I am the king! They are honored to serve me! Unlike you who will be dead!”

The king started to swing at Dan, unaware that he was sinking into the ground. Dan shook his head as he said, “so slow and stupid.”

The king stopped as he jumped from the lava puddle. “Not good enough, human! I am immune to such,” then fell on his face as Dan hit him with a double electric shock.

Dan moved in, taking the king’s other arm, then a leg. He was about to take his head when he rolled away.

Dan grimaced as the sword hit the ground as he apologized to it. Dan could feel that his strength was again starting to wane.

He looked at the king as he was rapidly regrowing his limbs. Letting out a sigh, he looked at the sword as it started to glow through all its colors, then added another clear shine.

The king stared at Dan and his sword, a smile creeping on his lips. “So, nine aspects. It is you that the elfin king has set such a high reward for. It will be my pleasure to remove your head, life and the smirk you wear.”

“You can try,” Dan said as they moved together faster than any could follow. As they stopped opposite of each other, the king gagged then fell as his head separated from his shoulders.

The quiet was unnatural, then the others knelt before Dan. Ah, shit Dan thought as he looked out at them.

Dan looked back at the females with him with a look of confusion. “What in the hell are they doing?” Dan asked.

Gre’ta came close to him and whispered in his ear. “I believe that you killed the king, therefore, you are now the king.”

“WHAT the hell!?” Dan shouted, making a look of disbelief on his face. “Who is the first?”

A somewhat small Incubus came running up to Dan then knelt. “I was the king’s aid sire,” the small Incubus said.

“Is what she said true?” Dan asked, trying to keep the anger out of his voice. He had noticed that most there were slightly trembling.

“Y, yes sire. By the law, you killed him, now all that he had is yours. That includes,” Here the aid stopped, twenty Succubi females walked forward, all a look of terror on their faces. “All the wives of the king.

Dan turned and stared at Gre’ta an almost look of terror on his face. “I don’t have time for this damn it, I have to complete whatever the hell this is.”

All the females there with him, had a look of sympathy on their faces, but didn’t offer any resolutions. Dan shook his head, how in the hell had he gotten himself into this?

Gre’ta stayed nearest to him as she could see that this situation was stressing him out. “Perhaps you can release them back to their tribes.”

Dan could only stare at Gre’ta almost in disbelief. “Knowing the laws here, they won’t allow it, besides all of them are terrified of me. Convincing them that I don’t mean to kill them might not fly.”

Gre’ta looked at the twenty, then Dan. “Damnit you just might be right. We need to have a meeting about this.”

Dan nodded his head as he agreed with Gre’ta about this. He was already having a really bad feeling about all of this.

He then instructed the aid to have all of the Incubi to return to their village. He told him that he’d visit them soon.

He then sat with the females that were with him and tried to figure a way out of this. The looks on his female companions weren’t giving him a good feeling.

They had discussed the problem for an hour before an idea hit him. He took a deep breath, he and the females entered the village.

He hoped that this would work as he really wasn’t up for ruling the Incubi. He had a meeting called for all the faction leaders of the tribe, still hoping this would work.

When they all arrived, he put to them a question. He wanted to have the strongest to rule in his stead while he was out pursuing his quest.

The loud grumbling that met him quickly had him drawing his sword. “So,” he shouted over the rest. “I see that I will have to kill all of you in order to keep the peace.”

This had the desired effect, all quieting all very quickly. He looked at each as sternly as he could, seeing that all of them were slightly shaking.

“I do not have the time to stay here and rule. The damn white elf king has been after me for a time now. I intend to go after him. At the moment he is badly injured. I will not be chased anymore,” Dan said, anger plain on his face.

“What will you do about the tribe king?” One of the faction leaders asked. “We will need a leader to rule while you are gone.”

“We will have a contest to see who is the strongest. If one of you kills another, then your faction will need another leader. I hope I am understood,” a wicked smile lighting up his face.

This had the leaders shaking a bit though they were eager to enter. At least they were ‘til the first contest a leader killed another, Dan beheaded it immediately.

Those that hadn’t believed that Dan wouldn’t kill them, were very quickly believers of what he’d said. Dan smiled wickly again as, after two days, they had a winner.

Dan explained what he wanted to be done and for protection over the tribe and the nearby succubi tribe. He stared into the eyes of all the tribe that had gathered.

“I may be gone for quite a while, if you disobey I will know. I now have nine aspects, you don’t want me angry at you. I will know, and I will rid the tribe of you, one way or another,” Dan said with intensity.”

He and the females turned and headed toward the pull that Dan was still feeling. He could feel that the leaders were waiting for him to leave.

Almost as soon as they were out of sight, the one he’d left in charge started to bark orders. Dan had them stop as he watched the leader send assassins after them.

He suddenly stopped as his legs collapsed under him. A vision of Dan appeared before the screaming leader. “You were truly that stupid, not believing that I’d punish you? Think again, also,” A moment later, all the assassins appeared beside the leader. “Remember what I said, I will know.”

All there bowed before the vision of Dan, who bent to touch the head of the leader and whispered. “Remember the pain,” then the leader screamed again as Dan vanished.

Dan looked at the females, nodded, then they started off slightly toward the king’s castle. The pull seemed to be in that general direction but not quite.

It seemed that the closer that they got to it, the more of a pain in the ass the pull became. Dan stopped at pointed toward where the pull was and concentrated.

The scream he heard was as satisfying as he thought it would be. He then thought as hard as he could. I told you not to do this as hard, if you do that again, I will kill you.

Again he heard another scream as the pull was cut almost completely off. Dan sighed as his head was now mercifully quieter, we’d see, he thought.

They were only a day away from the Incubi village when they heard a familiar grunt not far ahead. He started to pull all his shields out when they encountered pig troops, ogres, goblins and spectures.

They stopped as the small army before them also stopped. Dan sighed as he felt that they were only delaying him from where he was going.

A very large pig soldier came forth from the group, marching confidently towards Dan. “I am here to offer you a good deal. Leave the bitches for us to use, you go, and we let you live.”

Dan smiled a truly terrible smile. “I’ve got a much better idea. I kill you and the rest can go home, if not,” here Dan shrugged. “Then I kill you anyway and then the rest of them. I guarantee, it will be as painful as I can make it.”

The large pig soldier started to laugh as he looked at Dan. “We will not leave, neither will you.”

The large pig soldier started to draw its sword, then noticed that it couldn’t breathe as its head hit the ground. Those behind him seemed to panic slightly as many started forward, then fell dead.

The goblins and Ogres were dead almost as fast, many just falling over without a head. The truly frightening thing was that no one had seen Dan move.

The spectures were about to move forward when they saw several colors off of Dan’s sword. More than half of the pig soldiers had stopped. The largest specture floated slowly towards Dan and bowed.

“Sir Grand Mage,” came the trembling ghostly voice. “We were told that an evil that was out to kill us was approaching.” Here the specture bowed again, “We are not here to make war with you and yours.”

Dan nodded as he reached out and touched the specture. The specture gasped as it grew brighter, “I see that all of you are sick also. If you wish, I can heal the rest.”

The specture’s mouth was hanging open as it nodded and motioned to the other spectures. As they approached slowly, their own mouths were open as they stared at the leader.

The leader had them all line up as Dan actually touched each one of them, all growing much lighter and brighter. After they had all been touched, all of them bowed to Dan.

“You have the loyalty of the specture tribe. We will bring more to you as soon as we can gather most of the rest,” the specture leader said.

Dan nodded as the spectures disappeared. He then turned toward what was left of the pig soldiers, “So I take it that you wish to die” Dan asked.

For a moment, the soldiers thought about attacking Dan, then, they shook their heads as they turned and fled. Dan turned back to the females that were with him and smiled, “Definitely better.”

The eleven with him nodded their agreement. Dan started to move forward as did those with him. A pair of succubus eyes followed them as they started to move out.

She needed to get the human alone so she could talk to him. If this human was indeed the human she’d heard of, then she had no choice to talk to him.
