Chapter 9
I reached out to Margaret’s group, removing all that they knew of the program, her, her daughter and me. Then I went about removing anything else dealing with it.
The other nineteen groups were far easier to blank than Margaret’s. I also had to remove everything from anyone that had met them slightly harder than I thought.
Hell, I found out later that I had just to sense anything about all this to blank it out. It later saved a lot of time and effort.
I was afraid that the council leader might be able to re-add the memories that I had blanked as strong as he was. I made sure that I kept my eye on him and the other five I had incapacitated.
I made it back home collapsing on the couch, shit this was far harder than I thought it would be. Her Dad appeared a few moments later carrying a cup of coffee that I was greatly thankful for.
“So, he started, “You went after those that were hunting you?”
“Yeah,” I replied, “it was harder to do than I thought. I removed so many, but I’m afraid that the real power, the one’s in the know, are still hidden.
“Yes,” he said as he nodded. “What about the one that was over the group that went after you?”
I sighed, “I have hurt him pretty bad, but he’s harder to get to than I thought. Then there’s the fact that he has replacements out the wazoo. I found that they are far worse than he is. I got rid of the worst four,” I told him.
“Please tell me that you didn’t kill them. I taught you better than that,” my father said.
“No,” I said, “I didn’t kill them directly. Though I might have caused them to destroy themselves,” I told him.
Dad sighed as he looked deep into my eyes, then a thin smile crossed his lips. Then he sighed again, “This is war, if they are after you, you are a person, not a tool. You’re my daughter, not something for them to use.”
I nodded, then left, I vanished and appeared near the wrecked bunker where Margaret’s daughter had been held. I reached out finding out that not much could block me now.
From what I felt, more than half of the people that were there weren’t anymore. All that were there were mainly soldiers and engineers.
I noticed that they were trying to open up the half that had collapsed. I saw that they had made some progress, so I started the ground shaking as they evacuated. I then caused all that they had fixed, collapse again, then further past that.
It was then that I saw the tall man smiling toward me. You know he thought, I will catch you. We have lost far too many assets to you. It’s about time someone put you in your place.
I smiled as he started to send energy to hurt me, which I returned tenfold. I then watched as his knees buckled, he groaned, then he grabbed his head and screamed.
I did nothing to have you come after me. As the council learned, I wasn’t a threat though, now? Prepare yourselves, this is a war that I don’t intend to lose. All twenty-one of your teams are gone, no memory.
The tall man’s face screwed into disbelief, you lie! No one has that much power, except the council. They will, he stopped as the pain in his head and extremities started to throb even more painfully.
I don’t think that the council will do anything as they are a member short. Finally, I felt they were a bit lost as there were only five of them. Now last chance, leave me alone or there will be far more casualties this go round.
The tall man sneered at me as he started to open his mouth. You have, he started again.
I suggest, I thought as I pressed on his pain centers. That you VERY carefully think about what the next words you think to me. I am a whole hell of a lot stronger than you think.
I could feel him start then stop a few times. I will have to confirm all that you have thought to me. Then I’d have to await orders, he thought.
Here’s a thought: why don’t you advise whomever, that I will destroy the rest of them. They haven’t really pissed me off yet, though they are getting close.
I cut contact as soon as I was finished, not really wanting to talk to the ass any longer. I then vanished searching out anyone else that might have thoughts of me.
The tall man was on the phone the moment that the pain passed. The leader of the council answered after one ring.
“Sir,” the tall man started. “The untrained user just contacted me. I am going to utilize the ultra assets. They gave me a story that they had injured,” the tall man stopped at the next words that formed in his mind.
Yes, activate all fifty of the ultra assets, have the ultimate on stand by. This radical, untrained user has now been elevated to the danger level.
They said that the first agent started all this as he tried to kill her without orders. These visions were sent to me. The tall man said as he sent them to the council leader.
Hmmm, the leader thought, this does bare further investigation. We will do that for now, activate the ultra troops to eliminate her.
If they fail the tall man asked. You remember the mess that they caused last time, came the tall man’s thoughts.
The council leader was quiet for a moment, then thought. It will be almost a month to get them activated and here. For now, watch, no aggressive actions toward her, if there are? The aggressor will answer to me.
The council leader broke contact, the phone line was already dead. The tall man shivered at the implied threat the council leader had indicated.
The tall man turned slowly to another phone as he started to make fifty calls. Damn, he thought, this was going to be a pretty long day.
I sighed, I didn’t feel any new hostility toward me, though I stayed on alert. For now, I needed to continue the revenge that I was craving.
I already had two of them in asylums, the rich ass leader was going to be the hardest. The other two we’d seen, one was alerted that someone was after her. The other one was scared but not as aware or afraid.
I smiled as I found the first of the two, like the others living in luxury. I smiled as I started to contrive a plan to get the heartless bitch.
Like the others, her family was as ruthless as the others. Though they were the most unruthless, they were still in on the plans to cheat people.
It took a week of research to find out what and how many plans that they were planning. The first thing I did was cause the two biggest plans to fail.
I smiled at the loss of a few hundred millions, ought to get their attention. Then accidents that pointed toward the family added pressure.
I waited for them to call the leader girl’s father but was disappointed when it didn’t come. I sighed as I needed to put more on them to get them to start making major mistakes.
Next, I had supplies that started to show up late, sometimes missing parts. This gave a little relief as money was transferred back.
I kept everything that I found, everything documented, recordings made, a few videos made. I reminded myself that I needed to go back to the first two families and relieve them of their freedom.
I also kept an eye on their daughter the news from home starting to worry her. Finally, happy to raid the home, finding even more evidence.
I could only smile as the daughter panicked when her family was taken into custody. Yeah, I thought I needed to get the other two, they were already trying to get their daughters removed. Uh huh I chuckled fat change of that, they were loons.
The daughter I had started to talk to unseen, telling her that she was guilty and needed to confess. Then I started to amp it up, doing it every half hour, sometimes screaming in her mind.
I have to admit that she held up better than I thought ‘til her family went to jail. That was the last straw that pushed her over the edge, she was taken away after attacking another female.
As they put her in the padded room, I left her a last whisper. You are finally where you belong after all the people you hurt, enjoy.
I smiled as she started to scream even more. They had to sedate her as she tried to injure several orderlies.
I left starting research on the first two families. I had enough for one, though the other was going to be slightly harder. They were almost as rich and powerful as the leader girl’s family.
I was set to send another of the families to jail, when I felt the first ultra warrior. Well, mind fighter, you might say, stronger than the last teams, but not near my strength.
The first, I stripped of power as if they didn’t have any. The next three also went quickly. That’s when I felt what they were doing.
I vanished as I kept track of them, they were good, but they couldn’t track me. I got another three, they were still trying to hone in on me just, seven shorter.
I finally appeared near the bunker of the tall man. I told you what I would do if you didn’t stop. I again broke his arms and legs amid great screaming. Then I reached out to the council, the next weakest one was alone when I ripped through her mind.
I used the thoughts of her to contact the others. I told you that I wasn’t against you or the world, this wasn’t a war, but now? I am going to destroy the council, you, I indicted the strongest and leader. I grow stronger each day, which you will see soon; the war is your fault!
I cut communication, watching the female I had affected as her mind shrunk inward to save itself. I had tears in my eyes when she faded, hidden deep in her mind.
I appeared back home, cutting my power to nothing, making sure nothing had followed me. I had felt at least forty more out there of the ultras that were hunting me.
I stumbled in through the door, nearly falling into my father’s arms. I looked up into his eyes as I whispered, “They sent stronger ones.”
I swear that I could feel Dad carry me to his bed, though I wasn’t sure. I awoke quite a few hours later, startled by where I was.
