Iqua's Teepe

Chapter 5
I was about to try and confront the panel of the councils, when my sisters suggested that I try to talk to them individually.
I didn’t really see the point, but I decided to try. I decided to try those that were actually more on my side.
When I appeared near the home of one of those, Leanna said was for me, I was ready to be attacked. When he let me in, I found that he was really believing me more than anything else.
Unfortunately, he was only one of a few, though the less I attacked, the more were drawn to me. The thing was that with as many that seemed to be after me, the more they thought I had done it.
Out of the twelve members, only four were on my side, while the rest still believed that I attacked the leader. With a sigh, I tried the other councils, but found that only two from each were with me.
I vanished from the last and headed back to Iqua’s feeling a little low, hoping that Quana could cheer me up. As soon as I left Malacouy, and a few of his followers showed up having felt me.
“He was here,” snarled Malacouy, “Spread out to see if he’s still here. That abomination needs to die before he taints all the bloodlines.”
All of his cronies started to look as they felt that their leader was starting to lose it. They were all gone as long as possible, afraid that their leader would attack them.
They could feel that the leader had also become impossibly strong. They all decided that for the moment they would follow him, as alive was better than dead.
Malacouy was starting to fear that the telepaths and I were actually turning sentiment back toward me. Leanna, my sisters and Iqua were awaiting me when I appeared at the village.
Iqua and my sister’s faces all dropped when they realized that the mission had been a failure. “It will take time husband, if it is worth it, it will take time.”
I nodded as I realized that she was right, though I hated failing. It was then that I had a thought: the council leader was still unconscious.
It seemed that no one thought that the leader might have been drugged or poisoned. Well, most of them just wanted to blame me since I was an oddity.
The leader had been more than a mentor to me, as I grew up no one wanting to train me. My magic had been so weak, what in the hell were they afraid of?
I had also heard of a prophecy about an oddity that would one day straighten things out. I just shook my head as all the females there were staring at me.
I saw that Leanna was staring at me the most, then walked towards me whispering. “Is it really you? The one that will end the tyranny of the main council. To make the world balanced and fair?”
I then was embarrassed as Leanna and several of her telepaths started to bow to me. “No!” I almost shouted as I started to get them all to stand. “I am not a god or one to be worshiped.”
Leanna shook her head as she again tried to bow to me. “You are what so many have been waiting for.”
I could only stare at her and the rest of her group as they nodded their agreement. “I am no one special, I am just a magician that has a little talent.”
No, we can not agree you have already learned our power, and the power of nature. I am sure that you have learned others, try to make a flame. I heard Leanna’s voice in my head.
I stared at her as she nodded before me, I shrugged as I thought of a bolt of flame. I was shocked to my core as a huge, very hot plume of flame shot out my hand.
I saw Iqua smile as she nodded, “So the time of the great learning has started,” she said. “I have shown you all the nature magic I could, you have to learn the rest now.”
I stared at her like she had lost her mind. “What in the hell are you talking about? I am just a weak mag,” I started.
Iqua promptly shut my mouth with a fierce kiss. “Husband, I have known for a very long time that you are the salvation of the world.” Here she kissed me again, “of both the magic and physical worlds.”
All the females that were there all nodded their ascent with large smiles. Me? I just stood there with my mouth open that Iqua, closed for me with a grin.
I was confused, as could be I had no lines in my family that would indicate great power. Plus, I was a scared magician that had no idea what the hell to do.
I felt bad enough that I had ended the few mages that I had, but they were bad. It was at that moment that all the females there started to nod. I had ended several evil mages, I had, what the hell?!
I am sure that the supreme surprise on my face was clear as they all smiled at me. Holy shit! I was a mage, an obviously powerful mage from what I had done.
Then I thought about the ones I had ended as I felt my face fall. I had ended them, no talk to try to stop them, I had causally ended their lives.
I immediately leaned over and lost everything that was in my stomach. I hadn’t thought that I had ended lives just that I was trying to stay alive.
All the females there looked on with kindness as Iqua walked towards me holding a now squirming Quana. Quana looked at me and held her arms to me with a quiet coo.
I felt my heart melt at once as I looked into her eyes and knew that I was protecting her and the others. I was protecting against bullies that only wanted the world to be what they wanted.
Quana started to laugh as I felt my resolve stiffen, as I knew, it was for all of them. Iqua nodded as she took Quana from me and kissed me passionately. “My husband,” she whispered in my ear. “We all believe in you and what you can do.”
I thought about it for a moment, then nodded though, for the moment I had no idea what I needed to do. I know we needed to cure the council leader, he was far stronger than any of the others.
We also had to protect those that were with us. For the moment though, I was unsure just how to do that. It took far too long to reach and protect them.
It appeared that I had a lot to think about, then I felt the fatigue shake me. Well, I thought I needed to get my energy and durability higher. This being like I was right now, I needed to take a hike.
Every female eye there was turned toward me, appearing to be waiting for me. “I have the beginning of an idea, but I need time to think on it,” I said as they all nodded.
I then turned toward the border of the hiding field that I had placed. I reached out making it and the shield far stronger than I thought it was.
Holy shit I thought, when in the hell had I grown that much? Iqua smiled at me as she whispered, “You have always been that strong. You just needed to bring it forth and strengthen it.”
I stared at Iqua and the absolute faith that she had in me. I looked around at the others as I noticed that all of them seemed to have the same look on their faces.
I shook my head in disbelief as I had never felt this strong. I was wondering, as my three sisters had, had mage powers from the start, whereas I hadn’t.
We all broke up their meeting as I headed toward Iqua’s Teepe that she now said was ours. I couldn’t agree as I still felt that I hadn’t earned it, a thought I kept to myself, Iqua had a temper.
Back in the more modern times, Malacouy’s temper was starting to flare more and more. Several of his lackeys had been hurt as they were being seen by a healer, though one might not make it.
“How in the hell is the abomination hiding from us? We have the strongest seers, and they haven’t even got a sniff about them.” He grabbed one of his men about the collar and asked. “You say that all, the entire council and members of the telepathic group are gone? It has to be the abomination; we have to find and kill it before it gains ground here.”
“We have started to search back each year as far as we can. The leader of the main council has quite a few years sealed, we can’t even view there,” the male in Malacouy’s grip said.
Malacouy threw the male away from him with disgust. He started to concentrate and very dark waves of power appeared. Malacouy started to sweat as the power started to grow and swallowed him.
From within the now dark cloud there was a high-pitched scream, then an evil laughter started. A deep, dark and menacing voice that shook all there.
“We will find the abomination and destroy it, making us unchallenged and true rulers here,” the dark voice said, then laughed.
All of those there drew back as dark tendrils snaked out and hit all of the over, one hundred there. They all bowed and, as one said, “We will go through all times and find it. We will call you when we do.”
With that, all that were there vanished as they started to go back in time searching. What appeared out of the cloud was a misshapen, horrible mismash of rotten and disfigured flesh.
Several mages were walking by as they were hit by dark tendrils. They immediately swore allegiance to the evil mass and all its plans.
I was awoken immediately by the feeling of a dark and hideous evil coming through time. I stumbled out as the horrid feeling persisted with me.
All the telepaths, my sisters and Iqua were drawn to me immediately as I fell before the teepe. I had already started to strengthen the shields around the tribe, feeling it ease.
Iqua and the rest threw their arms around me as I shivered from all the darkness I felt. I could feel the goodness of all them as it flooded my being.
We were all recovering when there was a shimmering before all of us. An extremely bright and light female being appeared, her power unlike anything I had ever felt.
She reached out and touched my forehead, the pain vanishing as if it was never there. She then did the same for all but my daughter, who giggled in delight at the light being.
