Glossary
Blockchain A shared digital ledger whose entries are cryptographically linked. Once information has been recorded, later alteration can be detected.
Controller A device that operates physical equipment, such as reservoir gates or pumping systems, in response to authorized instructions.
Cryptographic hash A digital fingerprint calculated from a document or other data. Changing the data produces a different hash, allowing systems to detect alterations.
Cryptographic signature A mathematical method used to confirm that digital information was signed by the holder of a particular security key and has not changed since it was signed.
Directive An official instruction issued through the World AI system for implementation by participating national or regional systems.
Federated network A group of independent systems that cooperate through shared standards while retaining their own authority and local control.
Hardware security module (HSM) A protected physical device that stores cryptographic keys and performs secure signing or verification operations.
Judicial AI An artificial intelligence authorized to review evidence and make limited legal or procedural decisions within the federation?s judicial framework.
