Chapter 2

I can’t say that me or my daughters remember much of our visit to the Bellons world. No, ‘til the time our brains accepted more of the truth, it would be a while.

I mean, the simple fact that I was the first that could see them in their actual appearance, I thought was enough. No, as I quickly found out, that was just the very beginning.

What little I remember; my daughters were mere children to them. I, on the other hand, was many years ahead, not quite an adult, though not a child either, to them.

I do remember the one I had initially talked to. My mind was barely able to accept the fact that he was nearly pure energy. He had told me that I was the first of the advanced-adjusted humans that were just starting to have offspring.

I looked at my daughters, then back to him. Yes, he’d told me, they were the first of a great many that would soon be born. Then he smiled in his way, telling me confidently that I was to be their teacher.

I knew before he said a thing that he could see my hesitation. I mean come on; my track record wasn’t that good so far. Hell, I was having a hell of a lot of doubt in my ability to lead, let alone teach.

Then there was the fact that there were a great many enemies out there that were now eyeing the earth. This was due to the fact that I had more than helped destroy most of the Fletecon race when they came in mass to take the earth.

It seemed that we had been gone for a few years, though when we appeared not too far from where my house had been, it wasn’t. All three of us awoke about the same time, all three of us with massive headaches.

I looked at my two daughters, Bell my oldest, Trina my youngest. Both had dark blonde hair, standing five-seven each.

I made sure they were alright, before I turned toward the massive wreckage that had been my home. I shook my head as I saw what the back side of the house had looked like. I had started to turn away when half of the wreckage righted itself.

I was shocked for a moment, then a memory hit me. I was standing with the Bellon that had first spoken to me. “You must remember, your mental levels have risen far more than they were. We will monitor your world, especially where you and your off-spring are. Also, remember to go slowly using any abilities. You are, as I said, many times stronger than you were, therefore more detectable.”

Another look at my now half-destroyed home sent a wave of shock through me.

“Dad?” Bell’s voice came from behind me. “I thought that it had been destroyed. What in the hell is going on?”

I turned to look at her and gasped at what I saw. There was a massive what I could only describe as an aura around her. At the time, I had no idea what it was. To me, there was a huge amount of blue light around her. My mouth dropped open, then I happened to see Trina, with just as large a light around her.

I stood there with my mouth open, ‘til I looked at my hand, then my arm, my legs, then my chest. Good god! I had a blue light around me three or four times as big than theirs.

I shook my head. The Bellons had obviously strengthened us, especially me. I searched through everything I could remember, only coming up with the answer that I had been at this longer. Obviously, they thought I could handle it.

“Hang on a minute girls,” I told my daughters. I thought of the house being complete, then watched in half amazement as all the wreckage righted itself.

I was, finally, I thought, getting a handle on this as I thought of the kitchen. We all three, were standing in my kitchen, the girls’ mouths hanging open like mine had.

I had a thought about bringing the last three of my old team to the house, when Trina stopped me. “Dad, what the hell did they do to us?” She asked.

I looked at her, taking a deep breath, “From what little I can remember, I believe that they have advanced us. I can’t remember everything; I just know that we need to practice with our abilities. We,” I indicated all three of us, “are to rebuild another SIFI group. Though this time, the government won’t be able to touch us.”

Trina smirked as she said, “good look with that.”

“I think we should start building up our abilities. Bell, make a shield, I will push. This will help to increase it,” I told her.

“A shield? Like the one you did before? It damn near killed you dad, not sure I want to try that,” Bell said.

“Try it, it’ll be alright,” I said as I started to barely push against her. I smiled at the look of shock that came to her face. I then started to push harder. Good I thought she was almost as strong as I had been. I was pushing about a quarter of my abilities when I felt her start to slip. I smiled more when I felt her power grow beyond where she was. “Very good, you have advance some, Trina ready?” I asked as she nodded.

Like her sister, I got to the same point, then she slipped. I was about to stop when her defenses went higher. Damn, I thought, she was growing slightly beyond her sister. It was at that moment that I felt her energy start to falter. I immediately stopped, reaching out to catch her.

“Damn it, Trina! You can’t do this, it’s dangerous,” I nearly shouted at her.

I saw that the light around her grew for a moment, then faded somewhat. In a slurred voice she said, “sorry daddy, I wanted to be stronger,” she then passed out.

I thought of her floating up on the bed in my room. I followed quickly, seeing her settling softly on the bed.

“If you can watch your sister, I have to contact what’s left of my old group,” I told Bell.

“What the hell happened to her?” Bell asked.

I sighed, “she wants to get as strong as she can. When she slipped, I started to withdraw. She pushed harder, far harder than she should have. Consequently, she put everything she had into it, it drained her faster than she thought it would. She is slightly higher than you, though not much.”

Bell sighed then nodded her head, “she’s always doing that, so far it has served her well. I fear that sometime, she will die from trying to do more. I can’t allow that to happen. She is much like you father. I believe that you are the only one that can stop her if it happens again.”

“Then I guess,” I said, giving Bell a kiss on her cheek. “That, I will have to keep an eye on both of you. Both of you are very much the same. I just got the both of you back. I’m not about to lose you again.”

Bell looked at me with surprise in her eyes, then she nodded as I went back downstairs.

I had thought that only one of my old group was left. I reached out, shocked to see that there were three still alive. The problem was that two of them were in deep comas. The worst I could see was starting to lose the battle.

I reached in to find that there was a massive amount of damage within his mind. I set to repairing all that I could, seeing his vitals rapidly increase. I smiled as he suddenly appeared before me.

“Bill, is that you? I thought I was gone, holy shit! When the hell did you become this powerful?” John asked.

“The Bellons appeared. I thought that they were a second wave of the Fletecons. I had already lost your lifesigns as well as Andy’s. All that was left, I thought, was just me and Tom. Then I felt both my daughters enter the fight,” my thoughts said.

“Wait, your daughters? I thought you said that Shemie lost your children,” came John’s thoughts.

“She lied to protect them as well as me. When they entered the secret services, she used her maiden name,” my thoughts said. “I have just recently felt them, it’s strange, I had felt them almost the whole time, I just didn’t know,” I explained.

“Damn, sorry I let you down, I thought I’d last,” John said.

“Don’t worry I felt I let most of you guys down. You three were the only ones left. I have healed all I could. When you wake up, come find me. You know where I am,” my thoughts said as I pulled back.

I reached in, feeling the well of my energy, surprised when I had hardly used any. I then reached out to find Andy almost as weak as John was. A good half hour later, he was well on his way to recovering like John. I left him with the same message, then pulled back.

Damn, I thought that had taken a bit of time, as I noticed that the light was about to fade. Reaching out, I felt that Trina was about to awake, though her sister was also asleep beside her.

I was still seated when they both came down the stairs. “So, feeling better?” I asked.

They both smiled as they sat on each side of me. I had already measured where they were now. They were almost as strong as I was when I helped defeat the Fletecons.

I had already started something to eat, choosing to do it by hand. Even though I had the abilities, I wasn’t about to become totally dependent upon them. Somehow, I felt that this had been a warning from the Bellons.

I looked at my daughters as they ate, “I found out that there are three of my old group still alive. I managed to heal two of them. One was in pretty bad shape. I also upped their abilities.”

“Are they going to be able to help?” Bell asked.

“Oh, most definitely, Tom is going to be the hardest. The government handlers still have a tight grip on him, though, I have an idea. First though, I need to get ahold of him,” I told both of them.

I waited for a couple of hours before I finally felt him fall asleep.

“Tom?” I asked as soon as I entered his thoughts. “Tom?” I looked around, seeing that he also had a lot of damage. Then I grew angry as I saw that most of it had been man-made.

I saw images of several men standing around while Tom screamed. The worst was a balding scientist. I left Tom searching the whole building. Although I tried to control my rage, I lashed out when I found him. I had the visage of the man against a wall as I snarled in his face. Thinking he still had control, he tried to talk me down.

“So, you are the bastard that did this. Here, I think you deserve the pain that Tom experienced,” I told the man.

“Pain? No, you’re wrong, his brain had no pain I...” the man said. He then started to scream as only half the pain Tom had felt ripped through his mind.

“What’s wrong? That’s only half, here’s a moment of the full pain,” I told the man as I let him scream for a few minutes. “So, if you have any brain after this? I hope you remember that you don’t know anything.” I left, leaving only a fraction of the pain entrenched there.
