In the Imperial med bay, Mary was watching as Risen’s ship went into trans-warp and out a few times. She’d seen that the hull had been hit and penetrated.

She also was getting almost no life readings though she had detected a stasis tube. I do believe that I need to contact the emperor.

Derrick had just sat down with empress Shelby when his com. went off. He listened as Mary gave a comprehensive report about everything. There was a moan behind her as she turned to Mita.

There was suddenly the shouting voice of Mita as there were metal screeching sounds.

“I believe I need to go; Miss Mita is destroying the bio-bed. She is extraordinarily resilient,” Mary said as there was a loud crash.

Derrick appeared in the med-bay as a holo-gram watching as Mita trashed the bio-bed.

“Mita?” Derrick said, stopping Mita a moment. “Is this really necessary?”

“Necessary? Derry, that is my husband, the man who my father saved, so I had the mate I deserved. It is more than necessary!” She shouted, then broke loose from the bio-bed.

Derrick just shook his head, “make sure he heals as fast as possible. I’m afraid that if he doesn’t. She’ll be after me next.”

“I will do my best as I always do,” Mary said.

Derrick nodded his head as his holo-gram vanished. A moment later there was a groan from one of the last bio-beds.

“Gunther!” Mita shouted as she stumbled toward him. “My husband, you are alive! I was worried that I would have to bring you back from the dead!”

“Ugh,” Gunther groaned out. “Can you tone it down,” he whispered weakly. “Ah shit I’m in the bio-bed. Mary quarry, was I in fact injured that badly?”

“You were far more injured than at first thought,” the A.I. said.

“Extent of injuries?” Gunther asked.

“You had extensive loss of blood. Several broken and bruised ribs, along with the leg on your left side being broken. It also appears that your hip was also nearly crushed. Your nanomites have affected repair and re-gen. I am afraid that you won’t have the capacity to walk for at least a week,” Mary informed Gunther.

Gunther looked at Mita, who was slightly wabbing at his side with an almost undetectable grin. “Why, do I think that you are enjoying this more than you should?” Gunther asked with a suspicious look at Mita.

A shocked look came to her face as she said, “me? Whatever are you talking about?”

Gunther smirked as he kissed her lightly, “we already have four children. I don’t want you experimenting trying to have a fifth,” Gunther stressed.

Mita, still seeming to be shocked, said, “why I would never.”

This, of course, had Gunther smirking even more. “I mean it, Mita, I don’t want risking you to another baby. Shelly nearly killed you.”

Mita sighed as she nodded her head. “I don’t think that there is much anyone can do to repair the damage I have. I love all our children and the thought of them without both of us scares the hell out of me.”

This made Gunther smile more as he lay back, then was asleep in no time.

On the Delcron home world, the experimental brain wave machine Kimison and Rayburn had made was being tested. The first male was strapped in as the machine hummed. A moment later the male started to scream in extreme pain.

They both nodded as next Difina sat in the seat. Both men were tense as they hadn’t wanted to test it on her. Though, as she said, she was the only one that they knew wasn’t a traitor and available.

They watched extremely close as they started the machine. After ten minutes, they felt that they may have actually succeeded. At twenty, they knew that it worked.

Both men bowed to Difina, who rolled her eyes. She then turned toward Jimison, “now that they have fixed this,” she said. “I think that it’s about time we started to plan the joining.”

Cetalina and Medalina’s faces lit up for a moment. They were somewhat worried as they saw the shock on Kimison and Rayburn’s faces.

“Are both of you that afraid of us?” Medalina asked with concern in her voice.

“After all, we don’t bite nearly as hard as most females on the planet,” Cetalina said. This caused a look of fear on Rayburn’s face as he watched Cetalina’s tail swish excitedly.

Kimison could only stare at the look of near panic that was on Rayburn’s face. This caused him to lean over and whisper into Medalina’s yellow-furred ear. The Delcron female shuddered a moment, then turned and stared at Kimison.

This in turn caused Medalina to lean over and whisper into the blood-red ear of Cetalina. She looked at her cousin then, with shaking paws, she held Rayburn’s hands.

“Please, Colonel Steven Rayburn, please don’t reject me. I have very deep feelings for you. I apologize if I scared you with my comments. I forget that you both are of science more than anything else. I promise I will be the best partner you will have,” Cetalina said with her head bowed to him.

Jimison looked at Difina as he shook his head, in this instance there wasn’t a whole hell of a lot he could do. No, this was up to the two of his men. He then shook his head at Difina again as he saw that she was about to open her mouth again.

“I believe that Difina and I should leave the room for a time so that the four of you can discuss this,” he said. He then took an almost protesting Difina by the arm as he pulled her from the room.

Once out of the room, Jimison kept going with her ‘til they were a great distance away.

“Why did you have us leave the room, I,” Difina started, then quieted as Kimison started at her.

“If you remember when we were to be joined, I was also not that thrilled about it. I was barely able to accept that you actually wanted me. I wanted to hide more than anything, which I was right before I was brought to fight you. Remember that we are humanoids, not Delconians like you, we think very differently than your people. Especially about mates and mating,” Jimison said.

“You were not like that!” Difina cried as she held Jimison close. Then she looked up into his eyes as she realized that he was telling the truth. “What are we to do then?” Difina asked.

Jimison smirked as he said, “we allow them to set up the joining themselves,” Jimison said.

“But we have to,” Difina started.

“UT, ut, ut,” Jimison said, putting a finger on her lips.

Difina started to open her mouth, then closed it as she realized what was happening. She nodded, “I will follow you on this husband,” she said as they turned leaving the lab area.

On board, Johnathon, Kimon and Greeson were both still unconscious. For the last hour, Greeson had come out of it every fifteen minutes. Onai was the most worried, as Kimon was still unresponsive.

Akira was also worried, as nothing she nor Johnathon had done had any effect. Mara had been glued to Greeson’s side the whole time. Akira felt that Greeson was the key to bringing Kimon back.

Each time Greeson came out he seemed to say gibberish for a moment, then was out again. This time, when he came out of it, he started to repeat, Tamashī no jūden (charging the soul).

This time both Akira and Onai heard what he’d said, staring at him and Mara.

A shocked Onai could only stare at Akia, “I have only done that once. I would not be able to continue if I failed it with Kimon.”

Mara was biting her lip, she knew that Kimon had a great deal of knowledge about this. She also knew that Kimon had trusted David with a great deal of that healing knowledge. She didn’t want to lose David, though she knew he felt it was his duty to help his teacher and mentor.

Still biting her lip, Mara said, “could you do it through David? Kimon trusted him with this, is it possible to go through him?”

Akira and Onai looked at each other then turned toward Mara. “I myself have only seen it performed once. If it isn’t done right, it can kill both the participants. I fear for both of them, they should have come out of this by now. I leave this up to the both of you,” Akira said.

Both women turned toward each other, “I am afraid that we have to do this either way, they might die, am I right?” Onai asked. Akira hesitated a moment then slowly nodded her head affirmatively.

Onai sighed as she turned toward Mara again, “I will need you, I am strong, though, the both of them together,” here she shook her head.

“You need me? I don’t have the power or abilities that you have,” Mara said.

Onai smiled as she shook her head no. “You are far stronger than you think, you also know your intended far better than I do. You will help him, to guide me to what I need to do.”

Mara’s mouth hung open as she could only stare at Onai like she had lost her mind. “How can I do that? I have no abilities, I am not a mind expert, not like you.”

Onai smiled as she said, “I am not an expert, as you say, though I know Kimon’s mind well. As well as I am sure that you know David’s. As a soon-to-be mate, we have to know our mate as well as we can, don’t you agree?”

Mara was about to say something when what Onai had said clicked something in her head. Then a very large smile came to her lips as she started to nod her head vigorously.

This time both of them turned toward the males on the bio-beds with very determined looks on their faces. Akira was shocked a moment as she saw the looks both females had then started to bring out several machines.

Mara laid her hands on each of Greeson’s temples. Onai repeated the same thing on Kimon. Onai closed her eyes, as did Mara. For the first few moments nothing happened, then both males screamed, their bodies arching up.

On board Risen’s ship, it was slow-going as he’d had everything directed toward repairing it. He gone as long as he could without any meds or pain medicine. He’d made it for a week, though it was starting to take a toll on him.

He still had the ship getting him back to the Imperial Planet. He’d actually had the ship trying to get the stealth working. He knew that if his plan was going to work he’d need it.

He’d kept an eye on the three races that he’d helped to gain technology to regain their access to space. He knew that what he’d given then was antiquated, though still deadly.

He’d been smiling a lot of thinking that the bastard fake to the throne, had a lot of surprises coming. He knew that the Guardian ships would die defending the emperor.

He was pretty much depending on them reacting like that. It would make them far more vulnerable when he took over. He had such grand plans, the great number of asses that had slighted him. There were a great number of females that had refused him who would suffer also.

Yes, he thought, he would use them ‘til there was nothing left. He might share a good number with the loyal troops that he had awaiting him.

Ah, the wonderful sounds of the suffering that he would introduce them all to. The Empire of pain was soon to make an appearance, it was going to be glorious. No one would ever oppose him again.

The evil smile spread across his face as he got a signal that the stealth was starting to work. Damnit, he cursed it was only at twenty percent. Not that good though he was unseen by the freighters now.

Stealth is now slowly building, ten percent more power diverted to stasis tube. Healing time has been reduced by one day. Now estimating a week, five days.

Risen nodded he knew that it would take longer, though one less day meant not as much pain. Continue on with the power stipulations I have set.

Compliance, pain indicators have risen another thirty percent. Are you still unwilling to take anything for the pain? The A.I. asked.

Risen thought about it he’d taken a full dose a week ago it knocking him out for two days. Two days that he thought he should have been awake for. Luckily, he’d not missed anything that important.

The pain was a lot worse though he had to remain awake as much as possible. About one fourth of the dose I had last week, I want to remain awake as much as I can. There is far too much to accomplish in the short time we have.
