Chapter 11: The Voice

John and Darr are in the store sipping a cup of wine. John asks “So how was the trip””Well fine. It was worth it. “ Says Darr.

“sometimes it’s good to be alone. You know go in a journey alone sort out your weakness, try to find yourself more.” He adds. “You said you were going to your home.” John asks.

“When I started the pod, i thought that too but I figured out I don’t want to. So I wandered around space here and there until I feared I would get lost” Says Darr.

“That’s very ... refreshing. “ replies John. “Well it was actually. I loved the trip. I would have taken you too. But I know you would end up at the roof of the pod as always.” Says Darr.

“Well you missed the battle with the trolls.” Says John.

“I know. I heard you killed that troll the big one. Tell me you love big ones. Paul told me about that” Says Darr. “There is one thing more I need to ask” Says John.

“Yes. Go on then” Says Darr.

“Do you know about the solar system?” asks John. “Well I do know about many star systems. The cockpit has a map which can give you any info when you put a coordinate on it or any name on it.” Says Darr.

“Can you look up mars?”ask John. “You want to know about your home don’t you John” asks Darr.

“But I fear it’s not mars. You don’t look like a Martian Bullseye” Says Darr.

“Well But it’s the solar system I know” says John.

“Have you checked other planets out” asks Darr.

“I don’t know any other. Can you atleast check the solar system. Forget it. There will an uncountable number of planets. How will I find it” asks John.

“Well as the database says it’s 9, that’s easier. “ Laughs Darr.

“Well Darr. Tell me what do I resemble. I mean any planet that I would be from”Says John. “Well I had figured it out the day you were here Bullseye. You are from Earth. The Third planet from sun, the star of your galaxy. “Says Darr as he looks at the Computer. “Why didn’t you tell me. Earth that’s a good name” Says John. “Well that’s not your name.” Says Darr.

“I know that. I can’t believe you lied to me all these time”Says John. “Well technically not saying anything when you know something is a form of lying. But you were just a kid. Your mind cracked up, no friends, lonely, all you did was kill, and stay at the roof of any vessel you find be it the pod, the island or your horse” Says Darr.

“And that’s your defense. I was a kid messed up huh. I can’t believe that. Ok open the pod. “ Says John.

“Open the pod!Dont get angry big guy you know I was protecting you”Says Darr. “I said open the pod.” says John, Darr opens the pod. John rides his horse into the space and fast. Darr follows him by the pod.
